Happenings At Our House

Good Day,
An update on Hubster... He was feeling so much better over the weekend. I went on the net and found some things to do that gave him some relief from the pain and itching of the shingles.  Monday, he was almost back to himself and decided to go back to work today. Of course, I didn't agree with his decision...but what can you say...he had to go through it to understand.
Around 9AM, he was back home. He was driving to Texas in his truck and had to stop! He went back to doc's and he agreed, he's not ready to go back to work!
This family has gone through so many trials and the experiences are not new, just different! With God's help, we have gotten through them all. This, although it threw me at first, will be handled just as all others...putting it in God's hands...trusting only Him. I found that little saying that I posted at the outset, and thought it would relate what we were feeling... Appropriate, huh?
I'd like to thank all of you for your comments and encouragement and to let you know how deeply we appreciate them all! "Thank you" so very much!
James is asleep now, on this rainy and too warm day...doc gave him something to make him sleep. He wanted me to "thank you" and to send his regards to all of you!
We are Blessed to have such a huge family of friends!

Warmest Regards,

  1. I hope James starts feeling better soon. Take care of yourselves.

  2. Oh Boy, why is it that men think they can just jump up from being sick and get right back in the race..slow and steady wins the race..glad the doc gave him something to sleep. Slumber is a great place to be when you dont feel well. Praying that your beloved continues to feel some relief..

  3. i haven't been online much due to our little frenzy of life... but i am so sorry to hear about your husband! i hope that he will be back to normal soon. i have never dealt with shingles or known anyone who has - so i have no home remedies... but he is definitely in my prayers!

  4. Very good decision. God will take care of it. Give my James a big hug when he wakes up. Don't forget to tell him I sent it.

  5. Bless his heart, Shelley. I just caught up on this. Both of my parents had shingles at different times and they said it was an itchy and paintful thing. I will pray for him to recover quickly!

  6. Sorry to hear about the shingles outbreak. That can be rough. Hopefully he will get better quickly.

  7. So sorry he got to feeling so poorly, again. So glad he went right to the doctor. Many hopes that this will be over soon.

    Poor James...

And poor you, watching him suffer...

Gentle hugs to both of you...

Mmmmmm, I have a *Grumpy* post today. Hope you have time to pop over and read it. :-)

    "I'm tired, tired, tired,
    of *new,* *new,* *new*..."

  8. Darn!!! Of all things to come down with. My mom had shingles 3 times in her life and each time was so horrible. My brother has had them in his mouth and throat. It took forever for them to diagnose it because it is so unusual to get them there. Another friend had them in the eye. It depends where the nerve is that it hits. I am praying James will get over his quickly. Hang in there James!!! Hugs. LJ

  9. I hope James get completely cured, Loretta. Will offer some prayers for him...Christine

  10. Dear Loretta, I am glad the your hubby is feeling better. It is best that he takes one day at a time and not try to rush the progress. I will continue to keep you and yours in my prayers. Blessings, Catherine xo

  11. Sorry to hear about Hubby, I sure hope he feels better, I normally don't recommend any treatments, but I know this worked so well for the lady I am care giver for...
below is the info, in case you were interested.

    He'll be in My Prayers

    L-Lysine an amino acid

    Natural Treatment For Shingles

Lysine -- Lysine prevents the absorption of arginine which the shingles virus needs to stay active. Take 1,000mg of lysine up to three times a day. You should see immediate improvement. Don't take lysine with any milk products.

  12. Oh Shingles - poor man...My husband had them some years back - miserable time...but it does get better. Best wishes Nancy

  13. Sorry to hear. I will keep him in my prayers and hope he is better real soon! Take care Rebekah

  14. I really hope James is feeling better! I don't know why men always think they can go back to work before they are ready. Maybe he'll get the rest he needs. Take care of yourself while you are taking care of him. Prayers for you both!!

  15. I'm so sorry to read that your husband has the shingles! I decided to get a shingles shot this year so I hope it helps.

I hope he continues to improve and feel better every day!

  16. Hopefully this will pass, but he just has to take it easy and give it time to heal. I love the sign in the post header and I hope you have more praises to God than anything else!

  17. I had shingles recently, but a very mild one. thank God, and I know it is really painful. Hope James will be better soon.
