In Case You Missed It...Tornado Rips Through Iowa
Authorities say a tornado that was three-quarters of a mile wide, destroyed about half of the town of Mapleton, Iowa. So far, no reports of death, but several homes and businesses were severely damaged. The Iowa govenor has declared the county a disaster area. More than half the town is flattened, a grain elevator destroyed and homes.
The tornado's weekend rampage through the small western town left 60% of it damaged, and 20% almost flattened. The roof was blown off a high school, and power lines are down. The huge, centuries old trees the town was named for had been pulled out of the ground, wrapped around houses and tossed on top of cars!
Any of our brothers, sisters; and blogger friends in the area please know you are in our prayers and hope you come through this with you and your family's safety! May God Bless.
